Forklift Mechanic

Position Summary:

The Forklift Mechanic will perform maintenance and repairs as scheduled or required to maximize productivity and functionality in our operations. The employee in this role must have strong communication, observational, and operational skills with a focus on safety.

Major Responsibilities:

• Repair, maintains, and troubleshoots forklifts and equipment.
• Utilizes test equipment and schematics/wiring diagrams to troubleshoot equipment.
• Assist others in maintenance repairs for refrigeration, plumbing, carpentry, welding, painting, and cleaning on machinery and equipment.
• Ensure preventative maintenance on equipment is completed.
• Operates various types of forklifts.
• Able to perform work independently or as a team member.
• Communicates regularly with and immediately reports all safety issues, incidents, and maintenance needs to the Property Manager.

Position is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

• Position is regularly required to walk, sit, climb, or balance, talk, and hear.
• Position is subject to marked changes in temperature and humidity and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
• Position is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on regular basis, up to 75 pounds on occasion.
