Job Description

Typical Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Answer phone calls regarding inquires and processing of Personal Lines of business and limited Commercial Lines endorsements
  • Daily processing of new applications, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements
  • Issue quotes for agents and underwriters
  • Assist the Billing department by receiving phone call requests to process credit card payments
  • Assist underwriters with training and presentation on entry of new programs
  • Mail processing and distribution in compliance with department guidelines
  • Assist Department of Human Services walk-ins with cerficicate of eligibility forms and issue identification cards
  • Monthly auditing of customer service department entries
  • Occasional manual rating and assist in special projects or testing regarding Personal Lines products


Qualifications / Experience:

  • Able to type 35-40 wpm
  • Excellent telephone & communication skills
  • Able to handle irate and demanding customers
  • Pleasant, clear, customer-service voice easily understood over the phone or in person
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a high pace environment
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel


Customer Service Rep II (along with the above qualifications)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 year office experience


Customer Service Rep III (along with the above qualifications)

  • 2 year college degree or equivalent
  • 3+ year office experience


Additional Qualifications Preferred:

  • Prior customer service and data entry experience
  • Personal lines insurance background
  • Able to work independently as well as with a wide variety of people, external and internal
  • Ability to train others


Special Circumstances:

  • Occasional overtime may be required
