Job Description

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Prior to starting the Cashier must check for all prices and ensure it is in the Point Of Sales System. Must also count the register to ensure the correct amount is in the register. Clean the register area prior to starting, ensure beverage line is set up and working properly. Perform cashier duties for meal and maintain a flow rate of guests to correspond with serving line. The flow rate will be 100 customers per thirty minutes. Turn in funds and operate the Point of Sales (POS) system provided by the Government. Use the new AF IMT 79, Headcount Record when requested by Dining Facility Manager to record attendance at each meal or when POS malfunction. Follow established guidelines when meal card number becomes invalid through the POS. The contractor will also maintain the Commander’s Log Book and provide customers with Customer Comments Cards. The contractor will follow the Cashier Instruction Guide.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Count cash register you are assigned to prior to the start of the meal, inform Supervisor if you will need any change.

 

2. Count register after each meal with Supervisor for Daily deposits

 

3. Check for all food items on the register with the meal menu

 

4. Verify the prices on the POS system to ensure accuracy

 

5. Check all items on the beverage line to ensure they have been stocked up prior to the start of the Meal. (Milks, Juice, Soda box, Soda can, cappuccino, coffee)

 

6. Check all items on the Cashier line to ensure they have been stocked up prior to the start of the Meal; ensure you also have backed up stocked under counter cabinet.

 

7. (To-go bags, all sugars, creamers, Forks, knifes, spoons, napkins, comment cards, paper cups, hot coco, package salt & pepper, toothpick)

 

8. Ensure Cashier line is clean and free of any spills, debris and food particles using a fiber rag and sanitation bucket.

 

9. Ensure uniform has all required items, Name tag, Lanakila ID, Hair net, Clean Uniform shirt and clean black pants.

 

10. Ensure all proper documents are available for customer to sign on, Customer Demographic Count, Subsistence in Kind.

 

11. Ensure you validate all customers Identification (Military ID) to ensure they are authorized to dine in the facility.

 

12. Ensure you are able to process meal cards, read military orders and record menu item sales using the POS system and offer customers a register receipt.

 

13. Able to use AFIMT 79 form when the POS system becomes inoperable.

 

 

14. Ensure you are familiar with the cashier binder and all procedures that are inside (Anti robbery, cash register operations, manual pricing, daily documents, current TDY orders, AF personnel authorized).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education/Experience:

 

1. High School diploma or equivalent, AND

 

2. Minimum of 6 months of experience in cashiering

 

3. Minimum of 6 months experience in customer service

  

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

 

1. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide quickly and accurately

 

2. Ability to navigate computerized cashiering system

 

3. Ability to process transactions accurately

 

4. Must be able to pass criminal background check to gain access to military base.

 

5. Ability to interact with others with tact and professionalism
