Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Is responsible for the efficient operation of assigned projects in conjunction with a custodial training program to provide job training and employment for persons with disabilities.  Provides work assignments, orientation, evaluation, training and supervision of assigned trainees; assigns work activities to meet individual’s training plan; requests supplies; processes work-in-process and completed items; conducts quality control inspections and prepares required reports.  
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1.Provide oversight for all custodial projects including, but not limited to, scheduled monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual work.
2.Train assigned trainees and staff and assign work to trainees according to their abilities, goals and production priorities.
3.Manage trainees and staff to ensure job assignments are completed in accordance with service agreement requirements and department standards.
4.Maintain inventory of basic supplies and equipment, as well as notify Manager when supplies need to be reordered.  Train trainees and staff on the proper use of all chemicals and equipment and ensure all safety precautions are maintained at all times. 
5.Safeguard inventory to prevent waste and theft of supplies and equipment.
6.Ensure that assigned personnel successfully complete custodial work as required.
7.Works closely with Manager to conduct random inspection of work-in-progress and completed tasks to assure quality of work performed.  Correct errors as necessary and provide support and encouragement.
8.Simplify work methods and improvise jigs as necessary to increase and improve productivity.
9.Conduct time studies to determine trainee productivity rate.
10.Provides feedback to the Manager who performs evaluation/performance reports on workers.  
11.Drive trainees and staff to respective worksites when necessary in a safe manner following traffic rules and company safety policies

Maintenance of area, tools and equipment
1.Check all equipment and tools prior to use and notify Manager of any discrepancies.
2.Keep all equipment and tools secured and in their proper places.
3.Clean equipment and tools after every use and notify Manager of any discrepancies.
4.Develop and implement plan for general cleaning at regular intervals.
 
Safety of Personnel and Security of Building Equipment
1.Plan, conduct and record daily safety briefings with all staff and trainees.  Prepare weekly daily training log and submit to the Custodial Manager on a weekly basis by Thursday of the preceding week.
2.Remove all fire and safety hazards in the area.
3.Ability to properly use and operate a fire extinguisher.
4.Maintain first aid kit in assigned work areas and vehicles and has knowledge of basic first aid procedures and company workplace injury protocols (Medcor).
5.Ensure OSHA as well as company safety procedures and practices are followed and enforced.
 
Reporting Requirements:
1.Daily attendance of assigned staff and trainees.
2.Ensure confidentiality of client’s records.  
3.Authorize assigned staff and trainee daily work hours through the company electronic payroll system.  Develop a manual payroll override when required and submit to Manager for approval.
 
OTHER DUTIES:
1.Attend staff meetings.
2.Perform other related duties as assigned.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Occasionally environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and the like. Some sites include indoor and outdoor work locations that involve some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust and noise. May be required to work in confined spaces, on ladders and rooftops, and in adverse weather conditions. The primary work environment is air conditioned with bright lighting and minimal noise levels.  A limited amount of work may need to be performed in an environment which is not air conditioned and has moderate noise levels. 
 
EQUIPMENT USE:  
Must possess the ability to learn how to operate equipment such as, but not limited to:  Side-by-Side (Floor Scrubber); Auto Scrubber; and Burnisher (electric and propane).
 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1.High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 1 years related work experience.
2.Good verbal and written communication skills.
3.Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
4.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
5.Good organizational and time management skills.
6.Proficient in the use of a desktop or laptop computer.
7.Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
