POSITION SUMMARY:

Join BEI Hawaii’s leading distributor of agricultural and industrial chemicals, fertilizer and specialty products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administrates BEI Hawaii facilities' environmental programs. Manages and ensures compliance with the federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Develops and recommends rules and procedures regarding environmental compliance to upper-level management and branch managers.
  • Prepares and updates CAA, CWA, RCRA, TSCA, CERCLA, SWPP and other related permit applications and writes applicable plans. Establishes standard operation procedures to implement the plans and meet the regulatory requirements. Conducts site confirmative inspections and investigations to evaluate the necessity of environmental compliance related permits. Applies, renews, administrates, and maintains environmental permits.
  • Prepares all environmental reports and documents required by the governmental regulations, which includes EPCRA Tier I, Tier II report, Form R report, hazardous biennial report, and pesticide report.

  • Experience in EPA, DOT, Homeland Security, Department of Agriculture, OSHA and other regulatory compliance management, broad- based understanding of system engineering principles and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental management, or related science from an accredited institution and 3-5 years of professional experience.
  • Licensed and able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Demonstrated computer aptitude. Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift and carry 40 pounds of equipment and supplies to and from the job site.
  • Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to hike to remote locations.
