 ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

The Human Resources Coordinator- Benefits, Compensation, Compliance (HRC- Benefits) is responsible for the daily duties relating to benefit, compensation, and compliance administration from onboarding new hires to terminations, data maintenance into the ADP system, employee record maintenance and credentials, and employee customer service.

 

 

KEY SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Position Specific Duties:

 

  • Coordinates with HR Coordinator for Recruitment and oversees activities relating to onboarding new hires for payroll, benefits, employee information, employee credentials, and monthly New Hire Orientation.
  • Plans, schedules, prepares notices, and processes open enrollment for employee benefits including health group term life insurance, health insurance, long term disability, retirement plan, parking, and SCA health and welfare programs.
  • Responsible for managing paid time off (sick and vacation) eligibility including pay off balance and/or forfeiture of hours exceeding carryover balances.
  • Processes workers compensation and temporary disability insurance claims, etc., and leave requests such as FMLA, HFLA and requests for reasonable accommodations.
  • Responsible for preparing notices, planning, scheduling, and coordinating open enrollment events.
  • Prepares exit packet and processes employee’s termination or resignation, including vacation payout, COBRA, notification of termination to 401K administrators; s, and exit survey.
  • Prepares personnel action forms and employee notification for salary survey increases and merit increases based on employee performance annual evaluations with Directors and Managers to ensure employee performance evaluations and employee credentials are completed in compliance with required timelines.
  • Co-supervises HR administrative assistants relating to data entry into ADP system, employee records management system, and credentials, and processes for personnel action forms

 

Financial:

 

  • Ensures accurate reporting of expenditures, activities, and statistical data for benefits, compensation, and compliance.

Human Resources/Supervisory:

  • Co-supervises HR Administrative Assistants relating to processes from recruitment through termination, including  benefits, compensation, data entry into ADP system, employee records management, and credentials,

Safety and Facility:

  • Represents HR on the Safety Committee; reports committee news to the department and works closely with the Safety Committee chair on safety initiatives.

General Administrative:

  • Communicate and notify employees for benefit compliance, leave requirements, maintenance of records, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage compliance certifications and reporting such as certificates, SourceAmerica ERS reporting, and federal and state legal reporting or analysis.
  • Manage HR/Payroll and Time & Attendance databases to ensure information in databases are accurate and current.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of files and records and performs record retention annually to meet storage timeline.

Other Duties:

  • Performs other reasonably related business duties as requested.
  • Assist HR Manager and Director of HR in completing organization salary surveys and salary surveys for new positions.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

Required:

  • Education: HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years’ experience in human resources related field
  • Clearances/Certification: 1) TB clearance; 2) Criminal Background Check; 3) Child Protective Service/Adult Protective Service check; 4) Must maintain valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract (level 2 driver)
  • Proficiency:  Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Preferred:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in human resources related field
