Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Adjust a variety of workers compensation claims, both new and existing claims according to department guidelines
  • Meet with injured workers, take recorded statements, conduct on-site investigation, meet with clients and providers to develop rapport and formulate strategies for claims resolution
  • Service Major Accounts and handle TPA claims with specials servicing requirements


Qualifications / Experience:


Adjuster/Sr. Adjuster

  • 2 years college or post high school education or equivalent claims adjusting experience
  • Good working knowledge of State and USLH WC statutes
  • Ability to assess liability, determine compensability and apply facts to the loss
  • Experienced in adjudicating WC claims at DCD hearings, preparing hearing position statements and client/agency claims status reports
  • Able to conduct claim status reviews and service agent or agencies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Keyboard 35 – 40 wpm and 10 key by touch
  • Limited Hawaii WC license


Adjuster (including above requirements)

  • 3 years of Workers Comp Adjusting experience


Sr. Adjuster (including above requirements)

  • 4+ years of Workers Comp Adjusting experience


Preferred Requirements:

  • Able to prioritize assignments, work independently, as well as work well with others
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Hawaii State Independent Adjuster License or Professional Insurance Designations
  • 4 years college degree/post-graduate degree  



Special Circumstances:

  •  May require periodic overtime, weekend work, and neighbor island travel to attend hearings and claim status reviews
