SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR
$6,177 - $8,793 per month, salary commensurate w/ training and experience

 

Exempt, non-civil service, full-time, temporary appointment. This position manages the Office of Solid Waste Management within the Solid and Hazardous Waste Branch. This position is responsible for the implementation, coordination and administration of the statewide solid waste planning and recycling programs, including the Hawaii Deposit Beverage Container Program, as set forth under Chapter 339D, 342G, 342H, 342I, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Chapter 11-282, Hawaii Administrative Rules.

 

 

Minimum Qualification(s)

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:  Graduation from a college or university with major work in public

administration; business administration; engineering; planning; environmental education; or

any of the health or social sciences, plus a minimum of one year of responsible management

level experience in a public or private agency, one year of general experience and three years

of specialized training and experience in solid waste management or pollution prevention

activities requiring the knowledge of recycling or composting technologies, equipment,

monitoring, promotion or marketing.

 

A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
