CSI, Inc. (Comfort, Security, Independence) is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization which provides protective financial oversight for Hawaii's elderly and disabled populations. It has been doing so since 1987, and currently serves more than 100 Hawaii residents with subsidized or low-cost services on the island of Oahu.Â
CSI provides fiduciary services to a growing gap group of Hawaii's most fragile and vulnerable residents who do not qualify for assistance with their financial affairs. These are clients who do not qualify for a bank to serve as trustee because they do not meet the asset threshold, but they are not necessarily impoverished. An estimated 80-90 percent of CSI's clients are not eligible for subsidized services through the Office of Public Guardian (OPG). At the same time, these vulnerable clients are all incapacitated in some way; whether by dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's, or other mental and physical limitations. Serving this gap group of clients meets a crucial community need.
