Keep the Hawaiian Islands Beautiful (KHIB) is a Hawaii 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2008 and serves communities statewide. The mission of KHIB is to engage individuals to take greater responsibility in improving the community environment and preserving the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. It is KHIB’s commitment as a charitable nonprofit to support Hawaii organizations and local communities working toward improving all facets of our environment, with specific objectives including environmental stewardship, community beautification, and litter prevention/removal.

Building off the Community Work Day Program started on Maui, KHIB is the Hawaii State Affiliate in the Keep America Beautiful national system, and coordinates the state’s involvement in all Keep America Beautiful nationwide recycling, beautification, and litter control programs. In providing administrative, technical, and grassroots support for its local affiliates and partners, KHIB often functions as an umbrella organization.
