Esblished in 1856, the Hawaii Medical Association is dedicated to serving physicians, their patients, and the community through advocacy, education, and other services directed at providing quality medical care.

The primary purposes of the corporation and the goals for which it is organized are:

  • To federate and bring into one organization the medical profession of the State of Hawaii and to unite with similar state medical societies to form the American Medical Association;
  • to extend medical knowledge, advance medical science, and promote the betterment of public health;
  • to elevation the standards of medical education, and to foster the enactment and enforcement of just medical laws;
  • to promote communications among physicians so that the profession shall become more capable in the prevent and cure of disease;
  • to guard and foster the interests of members of the medical profession and to enlighten the public in regard to the problems of medicine.
