Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for assisting Hau Tree management in restaurant operations while maintaining high-quality product and service levels.   

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  

  • Overseeing day to day restaurant operations of Hau Tree. 
  • Be visible on the floor and assist staff as needed.
  • Welcome patrons and address customer needs, comments, and complaints to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with local liquor laws, health & safety regulations (OSHA, food handling) including Liquor Cards.
  • Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all matters and communicate with other department managers if challenges arise.
  • Monitor teams’ dress code according to uniform guidelines.  
  • Support special requests of all hotel and restaurant departments.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.  
  • Perform host duties during the shift including but not limited to: greeting and seating guests, coordinating the flow of reservations, and answering the restaurant phone lines.  
  • Monitor labor and make adjustments throughout the shift as business levels dictate.
  • Ensure necessary staffing levels for the day, including finding coverage for callouts or adjusting roles for shifts that are not fulfilled.
  • Communicate with all Kaimana Beach Hotel departments on Food & Beverage updates through the use of internal log books and daily property meetings.
  • Receive and coordinate Food & Beverage deliveries.
  • Ensure all team members are adhering to service standards.
  • Touch every table to ensure guest satisfaction. 

KEY REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum requirement of 2 years in Food & Beverage industry.
  • Excellent organization and customer services skills, excellent speaking and writing skills - including experience with public relations. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills including experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse network of individuals and organizations. 
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to multi-task. 
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize a large volume of tasks.
