Position Overview:
As an AP U.S. Government teacher at Saint Louis School, you will be at the heart of an inclusive, collaborative, and faith-driven community. You will have the opportunity to teach students across all grade levels (K-12) and in a wide range of subjects, helping them grow not only academically but also spiritually and socially. Your role will be integral to shaping the leaders of tomorrow and contributing to the continued success of our school’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction & Engagement: Deliver innovative, student-centered lessons that are both rigorous and aligned with curriculum standards. Create an environment where students are challenged to excel academically while fostering a love of learning.

  • Faith Formation: Integrate Catholic Marianist values into your teaching. Encourage spiritual, moral, and social growth in students, guiding them to live out their faith in service to others.

  • Student Support & Mentorship: Provide guidance to students, supporting their academic, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Act as a mentor and role model, helping students navigate their educational and personal development.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, administrators, and parents to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed. Participate in team meetings, school-wide initiatives, and professional development opportunities.

  • Assessment & Evaluation: Design and implement assessments that track student progress and growth. Provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their academic goals.

  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of curriculum materials, ensuring they reflect best practices and innovative teaching methods.

  • Extracurricular Involvement: Engage in school-sponsored activities, clubs, or events. Serving as a coach, advisor, or moderator is encouraged to further support student development.

  • Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with students, parents, and alumni. Create an atmosphere of hospitality, respect, and collaboration throughout the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.

  • Preferred: Teaching certification or licensure (for applicable subject areas). A Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Strong commitment to Catholic Marianist values and education.

  • Proven experience teaching in a diverse and inclusive environment.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to the needs of all students.

  • Technologically proficient and open to integrating technology into instruction.
