Compliance Director (224862-05)
A well-established local federal credit union is seeking an experienced Compliance Director to lead its regulatory compliance and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions. This senior-level position will oversee the organization’s compliance risk framework and work closely with executive leadership, business units, and the Board to ensure regulatory requirements and compliance risks are effectively managed. The ideal candidate brings extensive financial services compliance experience, strong knowledge of BSA and other banking regulations, and the leadership skills to manage a team while serving as a trusted compliance resource throughout the organization.

$125,000 to $150,000 a year
Responsibilities
- Lead the credit union’s overall compliance and BSA programs and provide direction to compliance staff.
- Maintain a comprehensive compliance risk management framework that identifies, evaluates, monitors, and addresses regulatory risks.
- Conduct and oversee organization-wide compliance risk assessments.
- Develop meaningful risk indicators, reporting tools, and other methods for tracking compliance exposure.
- Prepare and present compliance updates and reports to senior leadership, the Board, and appropriate committees.
- Partner with departments to incorporate regulatory requirements and effective controls into business practices.
- Monitor regulatory developments and communicate changes that may impact operations, products, or services.
- Review new or revised processes and provide guidance regarding consumer protection and financial services regulations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource to management on complex compliance matters.
- Oversee the effectiveness of compliance-related policies, procedures, and corrective actions.
- Support regulatory examinations, independent audits, and follow-up activities.
- Serve as the credit union’s BSA Officer.
- Direct the BSA/AML compliance program and ensure appropriate controls are maintained.
- Oversee compliance with applicable BSA, anti-money laundering, and USA PATRIOT Act requirements.
- Coordinate preparation and support for independent BSA audits and examinations.
- Oversee the effectiveness and continuity of BSA monitoring systems and related vendor relationships.
- Track findings and ensure appropriate corrective actions are completed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial services compliance and/or enterprise risk management.
- 5+ years of experience developing, administering, or evaluating compliance risk management programs.
- Strong working knowledge of financial institution laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations.
- Experience developing policies, controls, risk assessments, and compliance monitoring processes.
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
- Knowledge of BSA/AML, USA PATRIOT Act, GLBA, lending and deposit regulations, and other applicable financial services requirements.
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies and frameworks such as NCUA, FFIEC, and/or FDIC.
- I Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory matters effectively to employees, management, and Board-level audiences.
