Job Description

TGI creates and distributes a unique and proven product to the travel and hospitality industry – hand-crafted, customized, illustrated maps (both print and digital). Our company has a strong reputation, a 40-year history of success in Hawaii, and a list of current clients that includes Marriott properties, Embassy Suites properties, Hale Koa Hotel, St. Regis, Four Seasons, Marriott Vacation Club, Hilton Grand Vacation Club, and many more.

 

Our sales director needs a partner to set up and maintain hotel relationships.  The most important qualities you have are:

  • 1st – work experience in Hawaii’s hospitality industry, experience on Neighbor Islands is a huge plus
  • 2nd  – gentle persistence in the face of polite resistance and a commitment to follow-up and follow-through
  • 3rd – demonstrated success with self-management

 

Core job responsibilities:

  • Achieve appointments with busy hotel decisionmakers to present our custom map program
  • Engage front desk staff to (re)introduce our maps and offer an initial supply for them to use
  • Conduct deliberate follow-up with hotel prospects after first presentation

Job details:

  • Flexible re 1099 or W2 status
  • We pay for product training and presentation kits
  • We provide initial and some ongoing leads
  • You do additional prospecting and public relations
  • You have access to PT sales assistant (remote)
  • Immediate start date preferred
  • Flexible re part-time or full-time
  • Flexible re temporary or permanent position

 

Required qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working in or with the Hawaii hospitality industry
  • Outstanding phone, email, and in-person presentation and closing skills
  • A creative thinker who is coachable and can check ego at the door
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum education: bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to work from your home office
  • Available for short inter-island trips 1-2 times per month

 

Compensation: Competitive DOE, plus the possibility for commissions. Equity position may also be available.
