Sales Associate Job Description

Sales:

• CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Greet customers as they enter the store and assist them in finding products or answering their inquiries

  • Provide product recommendations based on customer needs and preferences 

  • Handle customer complaints and concerns with professionalism and escalate issues to management when necessary

• STORE OPERATIONS

  • Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and objectives

  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the Shopify POS system 

  • Participate in inventory management activities, including receiving shipments, replenishing inventory and conducting stock checks

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding inventory management, safety protocols and workplace conduct

• PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE

  • Stay informed about current promotions, sales and product features to effectively communicate them to customers

  • Meet and exceed sales targets by actively promoting products, upselling and cross-selling

  • Continuously strive to improve product knowledge and sales techniques through training and development opportunities

• HOUSEKEEPING

  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking racks and tidying up displays

Stock:

• RECEIVING

  • Receive and unpack merchandise deliveries verifying the accuracy of incoming shipments against paperwork

  • Sort, label and organize merchandise in the stock room according to established procedures

• INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Monitor inventory levels and alert management when stock is running low or when there are discrepancies

  • Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with periodic inventory audits as directed by management

  • Assist in the implementation of merchandising plans and promotional displays

• STORE OPERATIONS

  • Assist customers with locating merchandise on the sales floor whilst refilling the sales floor and provide friendly and helpful service as needed

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow within the store

• HOUSEKEEPING

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the backroom, storage areas, and stockroom, following safety protocols and guidelines
