Job Description
The Infection Preventionist is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the facility's infection prevention and control program to ensure a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, this role leads infection surveillance, outbreak response, regulatory compliance, staff education, and antibiotic stewardship initiatives in accordance with federal, state, and long-term care regulations. The ideal candidate is a licensed nurse with strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to quality improvement and resident safety. Infection prevention or long-term care experience is preferred, and certification in Infection Prevention and Control is required within six months of hire.
