Laundry Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Worker to join our healthcare facility's team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our institution by ensuring that all linens, garments, and other fabric items are properly cleaned, sanitized, and prepared for use.

Responsibilities:

- Operate and maintain industrial washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute clean linens, uniforms, and other fabric items
- Follow proper infection control procedures and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate records of laundry processed and inventory levels
- Inspect linens and garments for damage, stains, or wear, and report or repair as necessary
- Ensure proper handling and storage of clean and soiled laundry
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with other departments to meet laundry needs and schedules
- Adhere to all healthcare facility policies and procedures

Requirements:

- Previous experience in commercial or industrial laundry operations, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of infection control practices and safety procedures
- Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
