Business Incubator Assistant

Hi`ipaka LLC, Waimea Valley on the North Shore of Oahu, is seeking a Business Incubator Assistant.  The Business Incubator Assistant reports to the Business Incubator Manager and is responsible for supporting the Manager with all administrative and organizing duties required to implement the three-year program funded by the Administration for Native Americans. 

 

Our Business Incubator’s intention is to increase the number of successful kama’aina owned enterprises through technical assistance, networking, and business training. There will be a series of cultural training to teach the participants how business values can align with Hawaiian values. The program will support Oahu’s veterans, artisans, cultural practitioners, and rising entrepreneurs.

 

Waimea Valley’s mission is to preserve and perpetuate the human, cultural and natural resources of Waimea Valley for future generations through education and stewardship. Hi'ipaka LLC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to nurture and care for Waimea Valley.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

1.       Project Administration: Assisting the Manager with project communications, logistics and program delivery

2.       Setting-up workshops and networking events (i.e. printing workshop materials, sending event reminder emails, participant follow-up)

3.       Record-keeping and Data Collection to achieve program objectives, to include tracking attendance and survey results.

4.       Performs all duties safely and in accordance with established procedures.

5.       Participates in community events and/or public relations activities as directed by the Business Incubator Manager.

6.       Regular attendance, daily, is required for this position. Some of our events may be in the evenings or weekends.

7.       Performs other duties as assigned by the Business Incubator Manager.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability

1.       Strong administrative skills

2.       Strong people skills:  Must be people-oriented and able to work well with others.

3.       Knowledge of Hawaiian culture and Hawaiian language preferred.  

4.       Must be organized and a self-starter. Must exercise independent judgment to prioritize projects and respond to situations as they arise without direct supervision.

5.       Must have good oral and written communication skills.

6.       Must project a professional demeanor.

7.       Comfortable using a PC, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Forms

8.       Comfortable using/learning Canva and Asana preferred.

 

Education, Training, and/or Experience

1.       A minimum of 5 years office administrative experience in an office environment.

2.       Must have a high school diploma. Associate degree in business or administration preferred.

 

Hi`ipaka LLC offers a competitive salary and has excellent benefits- medical, dental, vision, company matched 401K program and life insurance. This is a full time exempt position and regular attendance on a daily basis is required. Waimea Valley is a seven day a week operation and some weekend work is required.
