Communication, Physical and Mental Demands:
Visual ability to read handwritten or typed documents, and display screen of various warehouse equipment. Able to conduct verbal conversation and hear normal range verbal conversation (approximately 60 decibels). Able to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend and walk. Able to sit or stand for sustained periods of time. Able to walk hard flooring for sustained periods of time. Able to climb slopes, stairs, steps, ramps and ladders. Able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds frequently. Able to push and/or pull a variety of tools and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds. Able to sustain strenuous manual labor for 8 hours. Able to exhibit full range of motion for shoulder external rotation and internal rotation, shoulder abduction and adduction, elbow flexion and extension, shoulder extension and flexion, back lateral flexion, hip flexion and extension, and knee flexion. Able to work at various elevated heights in safe and effective manner. Able to work in a wide range of temperatures. Able to work with chemical agents in a safe and effective manner without allergic reaction. Able to operate a variety of warehouse equipment in a safe and effective manner. Positions requires working and supervising assigned staffing under deadline pressures and low tolerance for inaccuracies in storing or pulling of product line.
Skills / Knowledge:
In addition to being able to fulfill communication, physical and mental demands listed above, must know how to operate forklift, picker and pallet jacks. Be able to instruct and follow instructions and safety procedures, including safety rules of forklift and picker operation. Be able to lift 60 lbs unassisted.
Education:
High School graduation or equivalent. Prefer Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, engineering, or related field.
Experience:
One year of warehouse supervisory experience in receiving, storing and pulling orders in a warehouse unit preferred. Certified on the safe and correct operation of forklift and picker.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are considered acceptable and involve lifting, standing, and carrying, and exposure to hazards common in a warehouse environment. Indoors under regular warehouse conditions; outside in all types of weather.
Equipment Used:
Operates forklift, pickers, pallet jacks, uses hand truck, scanners and standard safety equipment. Maintains assigned warehouse equipment and assures assigned warehouse personnel are properly trained and licensed in all necessary equipment. Reports deficiencies to Warehouse Manager timely.
Work Hours:
Work hours vary by warehouse assigned, normally 40 hours Sunday-Thursday. Some Friday, Saturday, and overtime work may be scheduled.
Accuracy:
Maintains and demands accuracy from all personnel for receipt, storing, pulling orders and accounting in assigned warehouse.
Other:
Alertness and careful attention is required to avoid injury to self and to others. Excellent attendance record.
