This position is temporarily remote due to COVID-19. 


Job Summary:


The Project Assistant will work directly with the Executive Director and other Kanu Hawai’i team

members to collaborate on strategizing, planning and implementing Kanu Hawai’i programs. This role will have a primary focus on the launch of Kokua Exchange, a Hawai’i-focused timebank, and will include data entry, recruitment of members, basic tech support, outreach to partnership/mentorship through interviews to inform project planning and execution, and hosting virtual informative webinars on local timebanking. The Project Assistant will also support development projects as needed, such as fundraising strategy, prospect research, and grant reporting. 



  • Connect with key stakeholders, such as existing timebanks, government agencies, and nonprofit leaders, to inform and refine overall project strategy

  • Identify additional revenue streams, such as new grant opportunities and/or individual donation campaigns

  • Work with community organizations to support their volunteer capacity building through informative webinars and assist in membership recruitment

  • Assist with new member orientation, setting up timebanking profiles, and monitoring timebanking exchanges

  • Assist with basic tech support and timebank website development

  • Organizational support

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 

  • At least two years of related experience desired.
