Adult Mental Health Division (AMHD) Financial Resource Specialist I

$48,948 - $57,324 yearly, salary commensurate w/ training and experience


Exempt, temporary, non-civil service appointment.  The primary function of this position is to plan, develop, implement, and assist in coordinating the revenue enhancing activities for the Division.



Minimum Qualifications


EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a major in a business administration, public administration, behavioral or social science, or other related field.  Excess work experience as described below or any other progressively responsible administrative, professional or other analytical work experience which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledges, skills and abilities.


Possession of a master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.


Possession of a doctoral degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two (2) years of experience. 


EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of direct experience with payers of health care services, utilization management, and/or compliance programs; and at least one (1) year experience developing and utilizing data for program improvement. 


LICENSE:  This position must be licensed in accordance with Hawaii Revised Statues as applicable to the discipline of the incumbent.  A valid type 3 driver’s license is also recommended.
