Adult Mental Health Division (AMHD) Special Populations Services Coordinator

 

$52,956 - $62,004 yearly, salary commensurate w/ training and experience

 

Exempt, Temporary, Non-civil service appointment.  The primary function of this position is to coordinate a statewide system of services to persons who suffer from severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring problems associated with 1) substance use disorders, 2) mental retardation, 3) serious primary health care problems, 4) geriatric problems, 5) adolescents transitioning to adulthood, and 6) homelessness.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:  Successful completion of a Master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or other related social science from an accredited college or university or a doctorate in these or related fields of study.

 

EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of five (5) years in working with mentally ill consumers.  A minimum of two (2) years of experience in treatment or other related services for one or more of the special populations.  Possession of the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for this position.  The applicant’s overall experience must have been of such scope and level of responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that the individual has the ability to perform the duties of the position for which the individual is being considered.

 

LICENSE:  This position must be licensed in accordance with the Hawaii Revised Statutes as applicable to the discipline of the incumbent.  Certification as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor is desirable but not required.  Valid Type 3 Driver’s License.
