Job Description

 

This position reports to the Controller of Poukihi with the primary responsibility of managing Client Accounting Services for assigned clients. The position is the primary contact person for assigned clients for reporting and other communications. Depending on the size of the client, this position will will oversee 1-2 other internal team members, ensuring processes are followed and transactions are coded and posted timely and accurately. Therefore, strong interpersonal communication skills to include training and mentoring are essential. Only Hawaii, Arizona or Nevada residents encouraged to apply

Client Accounting Services include:

 

Maintain fiscal policies to ensure our client financial health and integrity

 

QuickBooks accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing and purchasing, and recording all financial transactions

 

Prepare weekly dashboards and monthly financials to clients, and prepare other financial reports requested by the Executive Team

 

Provide any additional financial reporting to our clients as needed, such as for contract reports, grant reports, or State/Federal reporting

 

Provide schedules and act as liaison to external auditors and tax accountants.

 

Calculate and file periodic General Excise Tax returns on behalf of our clients

 

Provide financial insight, awareness and recommendations to clients

 

Assist the Executive Team in special assignments such as projections, financial analysis, and budgeting

 

Manage all financial and administrative files and ensure they are orderly, safe, and secure

 

Maintain clear communication with colleagues & clients

 

 

Administrative responsibilities include:

 

Oversee administrative functions and maintain cost effective and quality relationships with regards to insurance, payroll, human resources, sub-contractors, and other administrative need

 

Assist in looking for new initiatives for Poukihi as well as our clients

 

General administrative functions such as answering phones, filing documents, etc.

 

Other duties as may be required from time to time

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but will be looked at to lead the monthly processing and reporting functions for our clients and work with colleagues to meet internal and external deadlines.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor degree from an accredited higher institution in accounting or related field

 

Minimum 10 years of professional accounting experience in audit, tax, financial services, and/or non-profit accounting. Non-profit accounting experience is preferred. 

 

Knowledgeable about administrative management

 

Experience in multiple accounting information systems. Experience with QuickBooks and Blackbaud is preferred. 

 

Previous successful experience working with sensitive and confidential information

 

Available full time Monday through Friday

Compensation & Benefits

 

Salary: From $75,000.00 per year

PTO (covering Vacation/Sick) begins accruing on your first day but cannot be taken until after completing six (6) months of employment.
