POSITION SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the HI HOPES program including but not limited to general office work.
The Administrative Assistant must demonstrate an active commitment to the EPIC ‘Ohana, Inc. mission and vision, and to strive to incorporate EPIC ‘Ohana, Inc.’s values1 in all aspects of daily work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Assist Statewide Initiative Manager with a variety of tasks including, but not limited to general administrative and clerical support (filing, typing, faxing, phone calls, and computer)
- Participate in trainings and other meetings as deemed appropriate
- Furthering the youth engagement work, the assistant duties include:
- Assisting with Financial Literacy Trainings
- Assisting Initiative Coordinators during OPPS (Opportunity Passport Participant Survey) month
- Opening bank accounts
- IDA savings, matches and asset purchase trainings
- Other youth engagement strategies, as developed
- Assist with locating Youth and collection of data
- Performs other agency-related duties as assigned
OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
- Perform other related duties, as required and assigned.
- Regular attendance, required.
- Responsible for awareness and adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate at trainings, all staff meetings, and individual supervision, as scheduled.
- Recommend improvements and/or enhancements of job processes and work environment to ensure high quality levels of service deliverables.
- Addresses appropriate needs with supervisor and/or manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School degree; and
- A minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training.
- Must maintain an ethical, responsible and professional attitude and demeanor under all circumstances in person, by phone, e-mail and correspondence, in order to effectively and efficiently engage and maintain working relationships with families, professionals and youth who are undergoing complex and crisis situations.
- Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and maturity.
- Committed to quality and performance improvement.
- Successful criminal and child abuse and neglect background clearance as required by state regulations for those who work with children and families in the Child Welfare System.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION REQURIEMENTS
- Familiarity with the Foster Care System (DHS-CWS) strongly preferred.
- Office experience strongly preferred.
- Individual with experience working with families whose children have been harmed or threatened with harm, preferred.
- Individual with culturally relevant training and/or experience specific to the community served, preferred.
Pay:
- $18 to $20 per hour, commensurate with experience
- Position is non-exempt (overtime eligible)
