JOB DESCRIPTION FOR ADVANCEMENT DIRECTOR
POSITION TITLE: Advancement Director STATUS: Exempt; At-Will Employee
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Advancement Director will develop and implement the Institutional Advancement Plan that will include major donor, corporate and business, foundation, endowment, grants, special event and direct mail efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Practicing Catholic in full initiation with the Church preferred
2. The Advancement Director must have a four-year college degree;
3. The ability to work cooperatively with different personalities and individuals of diverse racial/economic/cultural background;
4. Strong oral and written communications skills;
5. Confidentiality (specifically of donor records and clients served);
6. Working knowledge of computers, word processing and database management;
7. Fundraising and grant writing experience preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Furthers the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church;
2. Fundraising Activities – The Advancement Director will be responsible for raising the funds necessary to carry out the mission of St. Anthony School;
3. Identify, cultivate, pursue and retain major donor and contributor support;
4. Assist the Administration to develop and maintain strong relationships with current, major and individual givers;
5. Strategize on and implement efforts to secure new grants and untapped resources;
6. Draft annual and special appeals to build individual giving base;
7. Assist with the growth of the endowment fund;
8. Support with receipt, acknowledgement and tracking of donor contributions, pledges, in-kind donations and other payments;
9. Support with maintaining up to date mailing lists, donor lists and donor profiles. Analyze fundraising data and prepare reports as needed;
10. Oversee the design and production of the organization’s communications relative donor appreciation and recognition;
11. Research and write grant proposals;
12. Plan the development, production and dissemination of support materials for fund raising activities;
13. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Administration;
