Assistant Program Administrator in our Field Operations Division serves as the assistant to the Program Administrator of the Field Operations Division and assists in the executive direction of the division.
As an Assistant Program Administrator, your duties and responsibilities will include:
· Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the division's five base yards.
· Oversight of the 24-hour operation and maintenance of the water distribution system, including all pipelines and construction equipment, valves, fire hydrants, meters, and appurtenant installations.
· Operation of an island-wide system in the receiving and handling of water interruption calls and complaints, including the coordination of all emergency functions necessary to minimize interruption of water service.
· Developing, recommending, and implementing policies and program priorities necessary to carry out the division and department goals and objectives as mandated by law or determined by the Board.
· Researching and preparing appropriate correspondence and responses to various inquiries, complaints, and/or reports for the Program Administrator or the Manager and Chief Engineer.
· Assisting in the preparation of the division’s budget.
· Performing other related duties as assigned.
Special Work Requirements: Position classified as a Disaster Response Worker and is required to staff the Departmental Operations Center (DOC) in times of emergency. Works in adverse weather conditions and additional hours as necessary to oversee and coordinate emergency repairs to restore water service as quickly and safely as possible.
