Assistant Restaurant Manager

53 By the Sea is one of the island’s premier fine dining experiences with sweeping views of Waikiki, Diamond Head, and the rolling surf at Kakaako. We serve Hawaii Regional Cuisine which utilizes local products, support local farmers as much as possible, and uses modern cooking techniques. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following other duties may be assigned.
- Must have knowledge of parent company (Takami Bridal) as well as our company (Ocean Investments) as well as standards and house rules of Ocean Investments.
- Must have knowledge of all food & beverage items, all FOH positions standards and sequence of service.
- Do pre shift meetings covering pax count, special requests, VIP’s and any other current “topic of the week”.
- Assist other managers in ensuring all guests are being taken care of by FOH team and help wherever is needed during service.
- If opening manager, unlock all doors and distribute computers, POS ipad, count cash box.
- If closing manager, lock all doors, put away all computers and POS ipad, lock cash box and tips in the safe
- Attends and participates at mandatory staff meetings and classes.
- Is involved in on-premise and off-property promotions for the restaurant.
- May be filmed or photographed by the restaurant for marketing, recruiting, educational or other purposes.
- Other duties as assigned by the managers and supervisors.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Upper education preferable, however not required
- 2 -3 years of related experience preferably with a full-size restaurant and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in cash-handling
- Experience in inventory management
Skills and Qualifications:
- Computer skills required. Working knowledge of Reservations system and Microsoft Office including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access. </li>
- Must possess knowledge of sequence of service
- Excellent communications skills
- Liquor License (Manager Card required)
- TB Clearance
- Must meet background check requirements applicable to the central job duties of the position

- Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
- Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
- Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
