Job Summary
Pacific Impact Zone (PIZ) is seeking a Biomanufacturing Systems Integrator to support the development and integration of emerging biotechnology and advanced manufacturing capabilities that strengthen supply chain resilience and operational sustainment.
This role focuses on evaluating, connecting, and integrating technologies, partners, and operational requirements to advance distributed biomanufacturing solutions. The position works closely with internal leadership, industry partners, research institutions, startups, and government stakeholders to translate emerging biotechnology capabilities into practical applications.
This is a technical integration and ecosystem-facing role that collaborates with program leadership and project management teams responsible for execution.
Key Responsibilities
Biomanufacturing Systems Integration
- Support integration of biomanufacturing technologies, processes, and operational requirements into cohesive solutions
- Identify technical dependencies across equipment, processes, and digital systems
- Evaluate feasibility of integrating emerging capabilities into operational environments
Technology & Market Assessment
- Conduct research on emerging biotechnology and advanced manufacturing capabilities
- Analyze trends related to supply chain resilience and distributed manufacturing
- Assess scalability, readiness level, and operational relevance of technologies
Ecosystem Engagement
- Build relationships with startups, biotech companies, research institutions, and innovation partners
- Support collaboration across the development pipeline from R&D through deployment
- Identify opportunities for technology adoption and capability development
Infrastructure & Capability Development
- Support evaluation of facilities, equipment, and infrastructure requirements
- Contribute to planning for distributed biomanufacturing environments
Technology Demonstrations & Pilot Initiatives
- Assist with coordination of pilot programs, demonstrations, and experimentation initiatives
- Evaluate outcomes and identify next-step opportunities for development or scaling
Technical Reporting & Communication
- Develop technical reports, white papers, and capability assessments
- Translate complex technical findings into clear summaries and presentations
- Prepare briefings for internal leadership and external stakeholders

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, bioengineering, biochemical engineering, life sciences, or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in biotechnology, biomanufacturing, advanced manufacturing, or similar environments
- Familiarity with biomanufacturing processes or lab-to-production scaling
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
Preferred:
- Experience working with startups, innovation ecosystems, or government programs
- Exposure to distributed manufacturing or supply chain resilience initiatives
