Position Overview

The Busser upholds Ocean Investments, LLC’s company Core Values, Vision and Mission. The primary responsibility of the Busser is to support the servers in maintaining a steady flow for service. The main responsibilities include clearing and setting tables according to the house standard, communicate with the servers and maintaining cleanliness on tables and surroundings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with the servers in order to properly service the guests’ needs.
  • Maintains knowledge of the menu, drinks and wine menu.
  • Clears tables properly, following and upholding the standards of the house.
  • Resets tables in an efficient and elegant manner.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, always having the “clean as you go” mentality.
  • Keeps the “bus station” in order to make sure that everything is in a precise way, such as shelves, coffee station, glass racks, silverware, and linens.
  • Attends and participates in mandatory staff meetings and classes.
  • Supports with on-premises and off-property promotions for the restaurant.
  • May be filmed or photographed by the restaurant for marketing, recruiting, educational or other purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the managers and supervisors.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 1 – 2 years of related experience

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must posses knowledge of sequence of service
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Liquor License (Must be obtained upon hiring)
  • TB Clearance

  7. Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
  8. Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
  9. Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
