Job Description

DUTIES:  Responsible for managing evaluation activities of a SAMHSA Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) System of Care Grant project. Oversees Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs) in data collection and participates and assists in data collection activities as needed. Oversees GRAs in literature reviews and data management. Assists the Research & Program Operations/Evaluation Specialist in the development of all evaluation protocols, develops and manages project databases, conducts statistical analyses, and prepares and disseminates reports, publications, and other written materials produced as a result of this project. Supports related research and evaluation activities of the Department of Health’s (DOH) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD), where the grant project is administered.  

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: 
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology or allied field. 
EXPERIENCE: One to three (1-3) years of evaluation or other research experience (during or after graduate training) that includes data collection, data management, statistical analysis, and scientific and technical writing. Includes at least one (1) year of experience in the mental health field. One (1) year of supervision experience.
KNOWLEDGE: General knowledge of youth mental health and mental health systems of care. Knowledge of program evaluation principles and methods. General knowledge of research designs and statistical analyses. 
ABILITIES & SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain professional integrity and work effectively and harmoniously with others as a team member. Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively, both to scientific and professional audiences and to lay audiences. Ability to exercise independent and mature judgments and decisions, and seek supervision when appropriate. Post Offer/Employment Condition:  Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check for working with highly confidential and sensitive information which includes being fingerprinted and having a federal background check performed. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.

Violation of the RCUH's, the UH's, or the business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.). Must complete the University of Hawai‘i's Department of Psychology  HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training, the Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training, and the State of Hawai‘i Department of Health’s HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training immediately after hire or not later than employee’s initial exposure to HIPAA/PHI. Must maintain a current status on the University’s and/or the business entity's training requirements.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:    
PhD from an accredited college or university in Psychology or allied field. Course work in evaluation methodology and principles. Experience working in the mental health field.
