CLINIC OPERATIONS SUPPORT ASSOCIATE – ID# 221462.​ 

 

Department of Psychology.  Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Department of Psychology, Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CCBT), OnTrack Hawai‘i Program, located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. 

 

MINIMUM MONTHLY SALARY:  $2,573/Mon. 

 

DUTIES:  Ensures that clinic functions as a medically appropriate and safe facility. Manages day-to-day operations of clinic, such as answering and triaging phone calls, scheduling appointments, and taking vitals. Develops and implements clinic policies and procedures, and oversees staffing. Responsible for orientation of new staff in systems operations and business practice, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and documentation of service provided. Coordinates and oversees all quality assurance and performance monitoring initiatives with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD) quality assurance staff. Manages all compliance related issues with Medicaid reimbursement. Serves as reporting liaison between CAMHD and stakeholders. Troubleshoots participant and provider problems and provides case management to participants as necessary. Responsible for optimizing reimbursement for Medicaid eligible services provided by OnTrack Hawai‘i. Ensures compliance of clinical staff with production quotas. Organizes and keeps clinic paperwork up to date in an electronic and/or paper format. Tracks program budget, expenditures and purchases. 

 

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/TRAINING:  High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.  EXPERIENCE:  One to three (1-3) years of experience with healthcare management and provision of health care services (e.g., experience with quality assurance and health care coordination, billing, and communicating amongst agencies).  ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS:  Knowledge of systems of health care, billing practices, and evidence-based treatment. Basic knowledge of psychosis and other common mental and physical health problems. Good problem solving, communication, and organization skills. Must possess computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to monitor and plan budgets and project expenditures. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must possess Certification in First Aid/CPR (or be able to obtain the certificate following the training provided within twelve (12) months from date of hire) and maintain throughout duration of employment.POLICY AND/OR REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:  As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies and procedures and, as applicable, subject to the University of Hawai‘i's Department of Psychology Center for Cognitive Behavior HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy and the State of Hawai‘i Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD) HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy. Violation of the RCUH's, the UH's, or the business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.). Must complete the University of Hawai‘i's Department of Psychology Center for Cognitive Behavior HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training and the State of Hawai‘i Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD) HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training immediately after hire or not later than employee’s initial exposure to HIPAA/PHI. Must maintain a current status on the University’s and/or the business entity's training requirements.  

 

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS:  Associate’s Degree from an accredited community college in Mental Health, Medical Assisting, or related field. Ability to accurately take and record blood pressure, heart rate, weight, and height. Ability to administer intramuscular long-term injections. Three to five (3-5) years of clinical mental health experience working with individuals ages 15-30. Knowledge of evidence-based treatment for psychosis or related psychopathology.  Medical Assisting Certification or Level 1 Certification from the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians.
