Job Summary:

The Campaign Manager serves as the operational lead for the planning, coordination, and execution of comprehensive fundraising initiatives at the Honolulu Museum of Art. This role ensures alignment across Advancement functions to advance multi-year fundraising priorities, manage day-to-day campaign infrastructure, and support the successful engagement of donors, trustees, and volunteers.

Working closely with the Chief Advancement Officer and Head of Philanthropy, the Campaign Manager drives internal coordination, manages campaign systems and reporting, and strengthens institutional capacity to execute complex fundraising strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in business, non-profit management, marketing or related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising, advancement operations, or campaign management.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or managing complex fundraising initiatives.
  • Direct experience supporting a comprehensive or capital campaign.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple timelines and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with donor CRM systems; Tessitura experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience developing reports and performance dashboards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with senior leaders, trustees, or volunteer committees.
  • Honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic supported by commitment, enthusiasm, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work within and support a diverse community of visitors, artists, and employees.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with prospect research tools (e.g., iWave, DonorSearch, DonorAtlas).
  • Advanced degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field.
  • CFRE or related professional credential.
  • Understanding of and dedication to advancing the Honolulu Museum of Art’s identity, vision, and values.

Essential Duties

  • Campaign Strategy & Planning
    • Partners with the Chief Advancement Officer to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising campaign strategies.
    • Translates institutional fundraising priorities into actionable campaign plans, timelines, and benchmarks.
    • Supports campaign goal setting, forecasting, and progress tracking across donor segments.
    • Ensures alignment between campaign priorities and annual fundraising efforts.
  • Campaign Infrastructure & Project Management
    • Develops and maintains campaign calendars, timelines, and workflow systems.
    • Establishes clear internal processes to support campaign execution across Advancement units.
    • Creates and manages campaign dashboards, reports, and performance metrics.
    • Coordinates regular campaign progress meetings and leadership briefings.
    • Ensures documentation, reporting, and data integrity within CRM and related systems.
  • Donor & Volunteer Engagement Support
    • Supports cultivation and solicitation strategies by preparing prospect briefings, materials, and strategy documents.
    • Partners with the Chief Advancement Officer and the Head of Philanthropy to coordinate trustee and volunteer engagement in fundraising activities.
    • Prepares materials for campaign committees and leadership meetings.
    • Collaborates with Advancement Services and Events to align recognition and engagement strategies with campaign priorities.
  • Communications & Case Development Support
    • Partners with the Senior Manager, Advancement Communications to align messaging and materials with institutional fundraising priorities.
    • Coordinates development and updating of case materials, proposals, and campaign collateral.
    • Ensures consistency and voice in campaign messaging across donor communications.
  • Data, Reporting & Performance Analysis
    • Monitors campaign performance against established benchmarks and goals.
    • Provides regular performance reporting to leadership teams.
    • Analyzes trends and identifies opportunities to optimize strategy and donor engagement.
    • Maintains accurate gift tracking and campaign attribution protocols.
  • Institutional Alignment & Capacity Building
    • Strengthens Advancement systems to support long-term fundraising growth.
    • Identifies operational improvements to increase efficiency and cross-team collaboration.
    • Serves as an internal resource on campaign best practices and disciplined execution.
    • Supports institutional readiness for future fundraising initiatives.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to fostering cultivating, and preserving a culture of inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility through respectful communication and cooperation with others, continuous training, and the modeling of inclusive behaviors.
  • In partnership with HR, supports the leadership team in ensuring equitable experiences, strengthening inclusion acumen and promoting a culture of belonging that embraces the contributions of all staff.

Compensation

The Honolulu Museum of Art is committed to practicing salary transparency. The range for this position is $95,000 per annum to $105,000 per annum. Please note that pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting pay, including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Atmosphere:

Work takes place onsite in an office environment. General office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with flexible scheduling as appropriate. Ability to operate general office equipment including computers, copiers, printers, etc. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, up to 25 pounds of general office material or equipment. Ability to work some evening and weekend hours.
