Job Description

Job Title:              Cashier/Expeditor

Department:       Front of House

Classification:     Hourly; non-exempt

Job Overview:     

The Cashier/Expeditor is responsible for ensuring that guests have a pleasant experience at the restaurant establishment.


·        Multitask in a faced paced environment.

·        Excellent customer service, verbal and nonverbal communication skills.

·        Proficient in POS software.

Responsibilities typically include:

  • Greet customers when entering or leaving establishment
  • Take customer orders.
  • Handle cash, credit or check transactions with customers.
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
  • Answer telephones.
  • Communicate orders and information between the front of house and back of house, making sure that order are being cooked in a timely fashion, and presented to the customer as beautifully as possible.
  • Assisting in the final preparation of dishes.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of equipment and property according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene.
  • Comply with department’s dress code.
  • Follow safety regulations, reporting injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor.
  • Emphasize fast service and quick food preparation, often working on several orders at the same time.
  • Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information.
