Job Description

General Responsibility: The Community-Based Economic Development (CBED) Project

Associate will support current activities in collaboration with other HACBED team members and

support the HACBED team as it grows partnerships and collaborative projects within its focus areas

of Intergenerational Knowledge Evolution, ‘Āina & Food Justice, and Community-Driven

Institutional Support. The CBED Project Associate will work to support HACBED’s organizational

focus on building partnerships in community and cross-collaboration across sectors to lift up

community voice and build capacity by using organizing, planning, and strategic network building

approaches.

 

Hiring and Oversight: The CBED Project Associate is hired and supervised by the Executive

Director, with support from the Office Manager. While duties are performed under the direction of

the Executive Director with support of the Office Manager, the employee for this position shall be

willing to take initiative and work independently.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • General Support to Current & Ongoing Activities, to include supporting community initiatives by providing verbatim notetaking support, synthesis of community input into action items, and carrying out related research; leveraging resources to maximize the impact of actions and sustainability of HACBED as well as partner efforts with activities such as additional research, template and tool creation, and report creation; providing additional support related to grant writing and community engagement as needed.
  • Project Support as Tied to HACBED’s Focus Areas to include supporting the HACBED team in their exploration to establish additional opportunities and partnerships statewide to employ and scale justice-based initiatives within HACBED’s focus areas of Intergenerational Knowledge Evolution, ‘Āina & Food Justice, and Community-Driven Institutional Support; assisting the Executive Director with various community partnership building activities, including email communications, scheduling and meeting coordination, and follow-up support to partners; supporting the HACBED team as they keep projects aligned with organizational goals, ensure quality control on projects, and adjust schedules and project targets.
