Summary

New Venture Research Corporation (NVRC) is a leading provider of innovative technology solutions supporting critical defense programs.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the successful execution of developing a new office space in Honolulu, HI, capable of accommodating up to 50 people. This role will be the central point of control, responsible for overseeing all phases of the project, from design finalization and contractor selection through final construction, commissioning, and closeout. The successful candidate must possess a strong understanding of best practices in project stability, safety, budget control, and compliance with all relevant local and state regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership and Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for the project, coordinating efforts between stakeholders, consultants, and contractors. Oversee and coordinate all construction activities on-site, ensuring work adheres strictly to construction documents, specifications, budget, and timeline.
  • Execution Oversight: Mange the bidding process and selection of contractors and supervise construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans. In addition, monitor project budget and schedule and communicate with stakeholders regarding project progress.
  • Compliance and Approvals: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainable building practices by conducting regular site inspections and quality control checks. Secure necessary permits and approvals in a timely manner and manage ongoing communication with regulatory agencies.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project records and documentation, prepare regular progress reports, conduct post-construction inspections, and prepare final project reports.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven ability to manage and control construction budgets, schedules, and quality
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with ICD 705 standards (min), experience managing a successful ICD 705 build (strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Honolulu, HI
  • Familiarity with Hawaiian geology, terrain, and climate conditions
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore) and the ability to review and interpret design documents (AutoCAD/Revit familiarity is a plus)

Required Education, Certifications, and Length of Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • A relevant certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or Professional Engineer (PE) is highly desirable
  • 3+ years of experience in Construction Management with a proven history of managing projects of similar size, scope, and complexity

Travel Requirements

Travel up to 15% is required.

Due to our contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.


Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, existing active TS with SCI eligibility highly preferred.
