Customer Service Representative

Join Hawaii’s leading distributor of agricultural and industrial chemicals, fertilizer and specialty products.

Under general supervision, develops and maintains customer relations, and assists customers with product selection, education, pricing, and any delivery or will call requirements. Also performs some inventory control and administrative tasks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists customers with product pricing and delivery or will-call requirements both in person & over the telephone.
2. Communicates delivery requirements such as quantities ordered and requested delivery times to warehouse personnel.
3. Advises customers of applicable product changes, introduces new products, provides technical and safety information, and/or recommends products to customers.
4. Ensures validity of licenses (e.g. Restricted Use licenses) and updates database as necessary.
5. Inputs cash & visa payments into the JD Edwards system, prepares deposit slips, makes bank runs. Prepares and forwards cash receipt reports and corresponding checks to the Accounting Department.

6. Handles customer phone calls regarding discrepancies on delivery tags and/or invoices. Processes credits and re-bills for corrections to customer accounts as necessary.

7. Handles customer complaints and problems in a professional manner and within company policy.

8. Fills out stock issue documents for company use of inventory items, promotional materials, and damaged goods.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. One to two years of previous sales and/or office experience.
2. Excellent customer service and communication skills.

3. Experience with and/or knowledge of the commodities the Company distributes – such as agricultural, turf & ornamental, pest control and/or industrial products – is highly desired.

4. Familiarity with, or ability to understand, government regulations concerning the sale, usage and/or transportation of restricted and hazardous products.

Physical demands:

1. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
2. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
3. Ability to drive a vehicle without any physical limitations.
