DDD Compliance Officer

$6,949 - $9,892 monthly, salary commensurate with training and experience

 

Exempt, Non-Civil Service, Temporary, Fulltime appointment.  Developmental Disabilities Division assures there is a comprehensive system of supports and services for persons with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities (DD/ID), based upon the principles of self-determination incorporating individualized funding, person-centered planning and community based services. This position will ensure the development and organization-wide implementation of operational plans to address the requirements of federal regulations, state policies, court settlement agreements and/or court orders and the Divisions’ strategic and quality management plans.  Other functions of the position are to assist the Division with formal appeals, recommend policy changes designed to assure ongoing compliance with law or regulations and achievement of evidence based outcomes.

 

 

 

Minimum Qualification

 

EDUCATION:  A master’s level or higher degree from an accredited college or university in health, human services, business, or legal fields.  A JD, MD or other health related doctorate is preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Ten (10) years of professional or other responsible work which involved gathering, evaluating and analyzing data, facts, and information to resolve service system challenges and to determine and recommend appropriate courses of action.  Experience with implementing federally funded health or Medicaid programs including utilization review, clinical service quality management systems with senior management level experience and oversight of health care delivery systems is highly preferred.  The experience must have demonstrated the ability to elicit and concisely report information orally and in writing.  The experience should demonstrate ability to utilize computers in information research and program development, apply problem-solving techniques, identify alternatives, use judgment in determining alternatives for action, and prepare concise analysis reports.  Of the ten years, seven must have involved professional work in public health or human service administration, demonstrating knowledge of work operations, compliance systems and quality improvement processes.  Planning, compliance, appeal hearings and system implementation experience is highly desired.

 

LICENSE:  A valid license to drive a vehicle in the State of Hawaii or the ability to utilize alternative methods of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions is preferred.
