Job Description for: Director of Strategic Advancement and Operations

Position Summary

The Director of Strategic Advancement and Operations is a mission-driven leader who supports the vitality, sustainability, and Catholic identity of the school. This individual is responsible for overseeing all non-academic operations and strategic advancement efforts, including development, communications, enrollment management, and facilities. The Director works in close collaboration with the Principal and leadership team to ensure that operational excellence and long-term planning reflect and advance the mission of the Catholic school.

Key Responsibilities

Mission Advancement

· Lead and implement a comprehensive advancement strategy rooted in Catholic values to support enrollment growth, philanthropy, marketing, and community engagement.

· Direct all fundraising initiatives including annual giving, capital campaigns, donor stewardship, and alumni engagement with a pastoral and relationship-focused approach.

· Oversee internal and external communications to promote the school’s Catholic identity, mission, and achievements to diverse stakeholders.

· Partner with admissions/enrollment staff to promote Catholic education and ensure strong outreach to parish communities and prospective families.

· Build and sustain relationships with pastors, parishes, diocesan leadership, benefactors, and the wider Catholic community.

Operations Management

· Supervise day-to-day non-academic operations, including facilities, maintenance, safety, food services, and technology infrastructure.

· Collaborate with the business office to develop and monitor the annual budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.

· Coordinate logistics for major school events, campus improvements, and auxiliary services.

· Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, local/state regulations, and best practices in Catholic school operations.

· Manage vendor contracts and facility maintenance in alignment with the school’s values and financial goals.

Leadership & Collaboration

· Serve as a member of the school’s leadership team, participating in strategic planning and contributing to long-term vision and sustainability.

· Model servant leadership grounded in Catholic teaching and values.

· Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and mission alignment among faculty, staff, and community partners.

· Communicate clearly and consistently with internal and external stakeholders on operational and advancement matters.

Qualifications

· Practicing Catholic in good standing who supports and models the teachings of the Catholic Church.

· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in educational leadership, nonprofit management, business, or related field preferred.

· Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in advancement, operations, or administration—preferably in a Catholic or nonprofit setting.

· Proven success in fundraising, strategic planning, and operational oversight.

· Strong organizational and communication skills with a collaborative leadership style.
