Waikiki Health is seeking a full-time Eligibility Specialist.
Pay rate for this role is $21 per hour
Schedule:Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

Summary of position: Enroll uninsured patients in State of Hawaii Medicaid (MedQuest) or Federal Marketplace and educate about additional health insurance assistance programs made possible through Expanded Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.Must attend and pass Volincore class offered by Department of Public Safety. Allows entrance to all of Oahu’s prisons.
Qualifications and abilities
● Education
○ Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Qualifications
○ Experience in the health care industry or non-profit preferred.
○ Ability to work independently and in a fast pace environment, have competency with current software applications and computer skills.
○ Ability to comprehend office routines, regulations, and work with confidential information.
○ Accurate, organized, and able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
○ CPR/BLS Certified
General Duties include but are not limited to
● Maintain certifications as Kokua with MQD and Certified Application Counselor for the Federal Marketplace.
● Schedule patients for Eligibility and Pu’uhonua related appointments.
● Educating patients about government health insurance programs, such as MedQuest, Federal Marketplace, Medicare and help determine which ones they may qualify for.
● Attend and speak at public events regarding health insurance options through the Federal Marketplace.
● Assist the Director of Pu’uhonua Prison Program with a pre/post re-entry to community.
● Other duties as assigned
