Emergency Medical Service for Children (EMSC)

Coordinator (Planner)

$4,777 monthly,commensuratew/trainingandexperien​ce


Exempt, non-civil service, temporary, fulltime appointment.  The primary purpose of Emergency Medical Service for Children (EMSC) Coordinator position is to plan, develop, and implement multiple, complex special projects, policies, and procedures through working with internal (i.e., DOH) and external partners (e.g., keiki injury prevention groups, EMS providers, hospitals, etc.) toward assuring readiness of pediatric emergency services throughout the state. The  EMSC Coordinator will be responsible for  federal grant reporting on the project and future grant applications.



Minimum Qualification(s)


EDUCATION:  Must meet minimum education requirements for the Planner series.  Advanced degree in emergency medical management, planning, or public health is desirable.


EXPERIENCE:  Must meet minimum experience requirements for the Planner IV class.  Additionally, demonstrated experience working on pediatric care or readiness related issues is desirable.


LICENSE:  Valid State of Hawaii Driver’s License preferred.
