Epidemiologist National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN)

Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC)

 

Starting salary is $5,712 per month, commensurate with training and experience.

 

Exempt, non-civil service, temporary, full-time appointment. Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) is a term applied to infection prevention and control activities focused on limiting the transmission of infectious diseases in a healthcare facility. The primary purpose of this position is to provide epidemiological subject matter expertise by analyzing and interpreting HAI data reported to the CDC National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN), data available in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and the MAVEN database. This position will provide section leadership with timely and accurate findings to support evidence-based decision making.

 

 

 Minimum Qualification

 

Education & Experience:  Master’s Degree in Epidemiology or a Master’s Degree in a health-related field for which the candidate completed and passed at least three (3) epidemiological methods courses , one of which must be an advanced level, and at least two (2) biostatistics courses requiring mastery of large datasets and analyses using a statistical software set [each qualifying course should have fulfilled a minimum of two (2) credit hours].

 

License:  Valid State of Hawaii driver’s license is preferred.
