JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION NAME: Extended Learning Program Coordinator DEPARTMENT/GRADE LEVEL:
Elementary/Middle Division
REPORTS TO: Elementary School Dean EFFECTIVE DATE: 1/16/2026
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES The Extended Learning Program Coordinator plans,
organizes, evaluates, and administers Maryknoll School’s extended learning and enrichment programs.
The coordinator provides leadership to ensure high-quality, safety, and mission-aligned programming
that supports students and families year-round, while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws,
regulations, and licensing requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees the planning, organizing, and
monitoring of the operations and activities of the Extended Learning program; maximizes Extended
Learning opportunities on a year-round basis, assures program activities comply with established laws,
rules, regulations, and licensing specifications. The Extended Learning Coordinator is expected to have
competencies in the following major areas:

III. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Coordinate, oversee, and manage the planning, implementation, and daily operations of the
Extended Learning Program.
B. Provide leadership in establishing program goals, priorities, schedules, and procedures in
alignment with school objectives.
C. Administer the Extended Learning Program budget by monitoring expenditures, maintaining
accurate financial records, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
D. Coordinate and ensure ongoing compliance with Department of Human Services requirements to
maintain after-school program licensing.
E. Conduct interviews and evaluations, as needed, for the Extended Learning Program staff.
F. Interact with parents to promote the program.
G. Collaborate with school administration on facilities, school safety, student issues, and concerns.
H. Work in the position of Activity Leader if no substitute staff member is available.
I. Conduct and facilitate professional development for all program staff and provide onsite-coaching
support to all staff.
J. Monitor Extended Learning Program to ensure all required program components: academic
support, physical activity and enrichment activities are in alignment with the program quality
standards.
K. Attend any training as directed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, sociology, education, OR
equivalent experience working in education, project management, or business leadership.
SKILLS
A. Ability to communicate and work effectively with students, families, and staff of diverse
ethnic, racial, cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds.
B. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
C. CPR & First Aid certified.
D. Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
E. Ability to work collaborative within a team setting.
F. Strong leadership skills in planning and implementing activities.
G. Ability to successfully pass a background check (including fingerprints) upon official
offer and acceptance of a position with Maryknoll School.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, reach,
sit, hear, handle, and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists. Extended Learning
Coordinators must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods. May need to climb stairs
and lift, carry, push and/or pull items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to respond effectively to
and lead the group in emergency situations.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office environment; fast paced work, constant interruptions. Employee is occasionally
required to attend evening/weekend meetings and may participate in other special events.

Exercises working supervision over students, leaders, teachers, and vendors as necessary
