Farm Tour Guide & Farm Stand Retail Associate  

 

Location: Kahuku, Hawaii 

 

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic individual to join our farm team as a Farm Tour Guide and Farm Stand Retail Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for providing educational and engaging farm tours for visitors, as well as facilitating daily operations in the Farm Stand retail area. Responsibilities:

  • Conducting farm tours for visitors, including providing information about farm practices, crops, and place-based history in an engaging and informative manner. 
  • Leading groups of varying sizes on farm tours, ensuring safety guidelines are followed at all times. 
  • Answering questions and providing information to visitors about the farm, its products, and its mission. 
  • Assisting with the setup and maintenance of the Farm Stand, including arranging produce displays, restocking products, and maintaining cleanliness and organization. 
  • Operating the cash register and processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently. 
  • Providing exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their purchases, answering inquiries, and providing product recommendations. 
  • Promoting and upholding Kuilima Farm's brand image and values through professional and courteous interactions with visitors and customers. 
  • Assisting with farm-related events and activities, such as workshops, festivals, and special promotions. 
  • Participating in farm-related tasks, such as planting, harvesting, weeding, and general farm maintenance as needed. 
  • Following all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of farm tools and equipment, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a tour guide or in a customer service role, preferably in a farm or agriculture setting. 
  • Knowledge of farming practices, crops, and animals, particularly those specific to Hawaii. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. 
  • Cash handling experience and basic math skills for processing sales transactions. 
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed. 
  • Passion for sustainable farming, local agriculture, and promoting farm-to-table concepts. 
  • Valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation to commute to the farm location. 
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in outdoor environments including moderate humidity and periodic rainfall; able to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, as well as walking, standing, and bending for extended periods of time.
