Floral Design Assistant

Company Overview:

Lily Rose is a floral and event décor company that specialize in “Spatial Design”. Floral arrangements and designs can be personalized for an individual’s needs. We can coordinate and arrange flowers and/or plants based on each occasion. Lily Rose is responsible for providing floral arrangements for the entire interior space for 53 By the Sea, The Terrace By the Sea, along with many other weddings and events in Hawaii.

Summary:

The Floral Design Assistant upholds Ocean Investments, LLC’s company Core Values, Vision and Mission. They work closely with the Floral Manager, Assistant Floral Manager, and/or Floral Designer to ensure that all orders are fulfilled properly and in an efficient manner. The Floral Design Assistant will also be interacting with vendors and internal customers. Having this in mind the Floral Design Assistant must always service everyone to the standards of the company

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure prompt, accurate, and safe delivery of all floral arrangements.
  • Set up and stage all floral products and/or mechanics for delivery while implementing the proper safety requirements.
  • Properly set up mechanics of all floral artwork designs, products, and/or props for all special events.
  • Does break downs for all events.
  • Accept deliveries; pick up and unload all floral products. Process and prepare all of those items for proper storing and/or productions
  • Create and fill orders for all occurrences including holidays, events, and any other special occasions.
  • Able to identify and work with a wide range of foliage and flowers
  • Maintain flowers that have been processed along with all other products properly
  • Water plants, cut, condition, and clean flowers and foliage for storage.
  • Maintain all floral arrangement (watered or fresh) for pending orders.
  • Maintain window displays and designs to enhance the shop’s image.
  • Upkeep and maintain all shop displays and inventory.
  • Discard all wilted or dead arrangements and preserve flowers that we are still able to use for repurposing.
  • Trim materials and arrange bouquets, wreaths, terrariums, and other items using shapers, trimmers, wires, pins, floral tape, foam, and other materials.
  • Prepares products for future events
  • Able to provide information to customers about the care, maintenance, and handling of flowers and foliage.
  • Perform general cleaning duties in the shop to ensure the shop is tidy.
  • Ensure that the establishment and facilities are kept clean.
  • Upkeep of cleanliness and proper maintenance of all company vehicles.
  • Maintain proper hygiene and adhere to dress code
  • Maintain a professional attitude and keep with company policies
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Reports To: Floral Managers

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in customer service

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Japanese speaking abilities preferred by not required
  • Must be a creative, detail-oriented person with hone floral skills
  • Open-minded and willing to learn
  • Proficient in answering phone/taking orders
  • Valid Hawaii Driver’s License required
  • Must meet background check requirements applicable to the central job duties of the position

Compensation: $14/hr
