Job Description

Join the Norpac team and help deliver premium, Hawaiian seafood to chefs, retailers, wholesalers, and restaurants around the world. Our Food Processors prepare fresh fish and seafood into value-added products such as sashimi, poke, and smoked fish. They also mix and portion sauces, then carefully pack finished products into boxes for shipment, ensuring quality and consistency every step of the way.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, mix and dispense ingredients for sauces
  • Prepare, label and pack sashimi trays, poke kits and smoked product
  • Issue and barcode ingredients and products
  • Clean area throughout shift and sanitize at end of day as required 
  • Clean common areas on scheduled rotation (break room, bathroom)

 

Qualifications

  • This position requires a high school diploma (or GED or high school equivalence certificate) and 1 year to 2 years of previous work experience.
  • Must be able to follow all procedures and protocols (SOPs) related to essential duties including the safe and sanitary handling of food and food-related supplies.

Physical Demands

This position requires the use of knives, pallet jacks, computers, scanners, thermometers, and standard protective outerwear such as hair nets, face masks, aprons, smocks, gloves, rubber boots, and heavy jackets.

 

Employees in this role are regularly required to stand and frequently walk, use hands to handle materials, reach with arms, stoop, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, or smell. Occasional sitting, climbing, or balancing may also be necessary.

 

The role involves regular lifting and moving of up to 10 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color perception, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment

Employees may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts or at height, and frequently work in cold, wet, or humid environments. The typical noise level is moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
