Job Description

The Food Safety Coordinator is part of the Safety & Quality Assurance Team and will execute work on behalf of the company safety programs. They will follow directives and implement the various health and safety guidelines that are mandated by federal and state entities, as well as the company as whole. They will also work with cross-departmental teams to ensure organizational goals met. Experience working in a matrix organization a plus.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain records and training documentation including safety training, staff meetings, and safety audits.
  • Coordinate meetings as needed with the departments to discuss and report issues, concerns, and improvements to maintain the integrity of the food safety system.
  • Oversee the employee training processes to ensure the successful completion and implementation of all required trainings related to food safety.
  • Stay current on all regulatory updates and changes and communicating these changes to the Safety Dept.
  • Aid Supervisors and complete all forms relating to general food safety, corrective action, and departmental maintenance of the food safety programs.
  • Communicate and work with dept Supervisors to develop and maintain systems that promote quality.
  • Assist with safety committee meetings, activities, and maintain meeting minutes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<​/p>

  • High School Diploma with relevant work experience
  • Experience and/or familiarity with basic food safety regulations (e.g. HACCP, GMP)
  • Experience and/or familiarity with OSHA regulations
  • Mid-level experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Food distribution or service industry experience a plus
  • Talent management system experience a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Flexible work schedule (weekdays and weekends as needed)
  • Ability to travel to neighbor islands (as needed)
