POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for daily food prep, staffing, and cleaning the Kid’s Cafe. Provide courteous and efficient service to guests. Perform in-house catering for meetings and events upon request, as well as food prep for programs and camps.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to work on time and neatly dressed in appropriate uniform, as outlined in the Center’s Employee Handbook.
Staff the Café during open hours of operation. Serve guests making purchases in the café in a warm and welcoming manner.
Prepare made to order food items quickly and neatly following pre-determined specifications.
Make sure tables and chairs are setup before opening. Maintain display cases so they are full and inviting. This includes condiments and utensils.
Maintain Café equipment according to specifications. Thoroughly clean the café and kitchen after closing. This includes equipment, pots and pans, utensils, tables, chairs, counters, doors, windows and ledges. Make sure all trash receptacles are emptied and ready for next day
Stock daily supplies such as cups, plates, bowls, etc. before opening to minimize “running out” during the day.
Keep prep and dining area clean during open hours of operation.
Assume responsibility for opening, closing, counting and balancing cash register. Must be able to operate cash register and handle money accurately.
Staff should not eat behind the counter while on duty or store personal food items in display cases. Use of cell phones is strictly prohibited during working hours, except when on break.
