Fund Developer (Major, Individual & Corporate Giving)
 

Position Overview 

The Fund Developer is responsible for building, growing, and sustaining strong relationships with individual donors, major gift prospects, and corporate partners to support the organization’s mission and long-term sustainability. This role is highly relational and externally facing, focused on cultivating trust, stewardship, and meaningful engagement with donors whose values align with the organization’s work. 

The ideal candidate is a confident relationship-builder, strategic communicator, and thoughtful steward who can translate impact into compelling giving opportunities. 

Key Responsibilities 

Major & Individual Donor Development 

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of individual and major gift donors and prospects 
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors through personalized engagement strategies 
  • Create tailored giving opportunities aligned with donor interests and organizational priorities 
  • Support annual giving, recurring donations, and special appeals 

Corporate Giving & Partnerships 

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with corporate donors and sponsors 
  • Develop corporate giving proposals, sponsorship packages, and partnership opportunities 
  • Manage corporate stewardship, recognition, and reporting 

Donor Engagement & Stewardship 

  • Design and implement donor stewardship plans, including impact updates, reports, and events 
  • Coordinate donor meetings, site visits, and engagement opportunities with staff and leadership 
  • Ensure timely acknowledgements, follow-ups, and donor communications 

Strategy & Collaboration 

  • Collaborate with executive leadership and board members on donor strategy and relationship management 
  • Support leadership and board fundraising efforts through donor research, briefing materials, and coaching 
  • Track donor engagement, moves management, and giving trends 

Storytelling & Communications (Development-Focused) 

  • Translate program outcomes into donor-centered narratives and case statements 
  • Collaborate on donor-facing materials such as pitch decks, one-pagers, and impact reports 
  • Contribute to fundraising campaigns and special initiatives 

Systems & Data Management 

  • Maintain accurate donor records and reports in the CRM or donor tracking system 
  • Monitor progress toward fundraising goals and adjust strategies as needed 
  • Ensure ethical fundraising practices and donor confidentiality 

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of experience in individual giving, major gifts, or development 
  • Demonstrated success cultivating and stewarding donors and securing individual or major gifts 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and storytelling skills 
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple donor relationships 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with board leadership 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with corporate philanthropy or sponsorship development 
  • Familiarity with donor CRM systems and moves management 
  • Experience working with boards on fundraising 
  • Experience in community-based, mission-driven, or equity-centered organizations

Compensation & Work Environment 

  • Salary: $70,000-$80,000 
  • Status: Full-time
