Job Description

Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, maintain the grounds and paved/parking areas of the campus and the area immediately outside the fences in an attractive and safe condition.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Mow and edge lawns; trim, transplant and prune plants, grass, shrubbery and trees; water and weed as necessary for a positive and aesthetically pleasing experience for guests.

·         Maintain the cleanliness of roads and parking areas. Gather and remove campus trash and litter from assigned areas.

·         Assist with setup and breakdown for events, including and not limited to, tents, chairs, tables, props and supplies.

·         Assist with repairs to grounds, buildings, fixtures, furnishings or equipment.

·         Assist with the transportation and movement of furniture, collection items, equipment, etc. as necessary.

·         Interact with staff and visitors with tact, courtesy, and respect at all times. Cooperate and support teamwork; maintain and strengthen customer and staff relationships.

·         Perform duties in a safe manner. Comply with safety rules and safe work practices.  Report unsafe work conditions, unsafe acts, and all accidents to the Facilities Manager.

·         Notify supervisor of equipment or facilities needing repair or replacement.

·         Keep self and work area neat and orderly.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

 

§  Willingness to learn.

§  Ability to work well with minimal supervision.

§  Dependable, responsible, team player.

§  Knowledge in general groundskeeping.

§  High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Two years' experience preferred.

§  A working knowledge of English, and the ability and willingness to communicate in English required. 

 

Other Requirements

 

·         Good attendance.

·         Detail-oriented.

·         Hawaii Driver's license
